To show you the fun I had with the composing of my robot

and to improve my programming skills with a new language, I created this interactive flash.
Unfortunately the pixel bender filters and the blend modes do not exactly match the ones in photoshop. But they work satisfying.

Have fun and waste some time!
:blowkiss:

And for all Ipad users who can not see it -> ADOBE PRODUCTS RULE!

This is great! What rendering engine are you using?

Maxwell Render!
Only this awesome program can render many individual light sources which you can edit later separately (e.g. in Photoshop).
Try the demo - its a great render engine for still images.

I want to add. I've found a program called Blender. It's free and you can do just about anything with it. It allows you to make videos and games with it. It's completely 3d. There are tutorial videos. If you want the links let me know.

I already know Blender.

Unfortunately these kind of realistic renders are (almost) impossible to make in Blender.

Concerning flash Blender is more interesting for augmented reality. You can build 3d objects in Blender, export them in the collada format (.dae)and import them in flash (flash builder) by the use of special AR-developers kits to make your own augemented reality stuff.

I am extremely impressed. This is very detailed. It looks very real. I noticed the tongue.

I'd work more on the design of your interface. =O
I belief the art itself (the robot) is too good for the interface. (Design based).

Other then that, the robot itself is done pretty nice!
And you seem to have a good knowledge of Actionscript 3. =]

Keep it up.

yeahh,
i know the interface design is not the best. i was more interested in programming than to design. My goal was a not-standard-dark-grey-flash-builder-scheme.
But thanks for sharing your opinion!

i would love to know the process of making it interactive what was the programming like and how did you render it out....now that i know that it's possible with cinema 4D i'd like to giv that a go...but am wondering if you had to make several renders and link them and all to this an that and blah blah blah lol

I programmed it in flash builder. I took all the renders of the different light sources (some are shown here: [link] ), put them on top of each other, and adjusted the layer mode to "overlay", i think (like you would do it in photoshop). Then i programmed two pixel bender filters for hue and exposure, installed them in every layer, and linked them to the individual controller. That's it!
